Brothers Asger and Holger Hartvig’s duo revisit work undertaken during their six-month artistic residency here in Barreiro a few years ago. At the time, the work involved the creation of a concert/performance which crossed the boundaries between song, free improvisation and theatrical performance in a naked, beautiful, brave and sincere frugal cabaret show. Asger and Holger have a truly interesting role with respect to intersecting various disciplines and in terms of artistic accomplishment, even on a larger scale, particularly in their native Copenhagen and Denmark, even if sometimes their work is too punk to be able to reach farther. For a few years, Asger worked with Dean Blunt, his stage work with the most exposure thus far. In Barreiro, they were met with a welcoming community which was open to working with them on their raw and real ideas. That work will now be carried on, during a two-week artistic residency prior to their performance at OUT.FEST.
